Looking forward to fall

It's a million degrees, but I find myself looking forward to fall. So, I ditched the idea of a summer dress today for something more layered.

Have you embraced your grey hair?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3191499/I-m-proof-going-grey-make-look-years-YOUNGER-infuriatingly-husband-s-idea.html

I gave up dying my hair about four years ago. I love my natural hair. Sometimes I think about coloring it again, but then I remember the upkeep, and the pain of letting it grow out.

Speaking of hair, it's super hot here today, so I'm trying a new product. It's Bumble & Bumble Don't Blow It. It's a styling product for air drying your hair. http://m.sephora.com/don-t-blow-it-P397351

Eileen Fisher-I'm obsessed

http://www.eileenfisher.com/EileenFisher/collection/ShopByCategory/value_product.jsp?bmLocale=en_US&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=f15_facebook_diffusion_081615

This link popped up on my Facebook feed this morning. I adore Eileen Fisher, but I certainly don't consider it "style within reach." For me, these are investment pieces. I look for these on sale or at the consignment shop.

That said, Eileen Fisher has great clothes. I can't do a whole outfit from there usually, because it's too casual for my office environment. But I love the stretch crepe pants and skirts. You can wash them in the machine, and they wear like iron. I have a 10 year old pair of black stretch crepe pants that I have worn at least once a week. I'm about ready to retire them, but I'll miss them for sure. Thank god they still make the same style. I'll just have to wait for a sale!

Trying to be fashionable without looking crazy.

This blog is going to be about my efforts to look chic without looking (a) dowdy, or (b) like mutton dressed as lamb..or in other words "dressing my age."

My age is 54.

I follow a bunch of fashion blogs, and they're interesting, but they're mostly by young women. I did recently find one, advancedstyle.blogspot.fr, that is about stylish older women.

These ladies sport some really fabulous outfits, but I'm in a relatively conservative line of work, so my work wear can't be that out there...not to mention, I don't have unlimited funds for my wardrobe!

So I'm hoping we can have some fun conversations about clothing, fashion, cosmetics, etc. for us older ladies!
